What is there to do on Terschelling?

Terschelling has more than enough to offer tourists. Visit the wreck museum in Formerum. Or visit the Oerol festival. Oerol is an annual ten-day cultural festival in June, which is held on the island of Terschelling. Of course, a visit to the famous Brandaris lighthouse should not be missed. De Brandaris is the oldest working lighthouse in the Netherlands.

The De Boschplaat nature reserve is located on Terschelling. De Boschplaat has awarded the predicate "Dark Sky Park". The idea behind a Dark Sky area is to maintain a place where it is still really dark at night so that people and animals can enjoy nature as it once was everywhere on earth. on a clear evening you can occasionally see the Milky Way.

A visit to the bunker complex on Terschelling is also recommended. Bunker Museum Terschelling is a museum about the Second World War on the Dutch island of Terschelling. The seven-hectare complex consists of 100 bunkers, in which more than 200 German soldiers lived and worked during the Second World War. This is just a small overview of activities that can be undertaken on Terschelling.

Terschelling consists of 80% nature. This allows you to make beautiful walking and cycling trips.
