The camping site is the perfect base for a walking and cycling trip across the Veluwe. The Schaverensepad is a beautiful walking route that starts close to the campsite. You can easily map out your own routes via the Veluwe's cycle junction network. A visit to Paleis' t Loo, the Anton Piek Museum, Wildpark het Aardhuis and Walibi Holland are highly recommended.

Camping De Zandhegge has a beautiful outdoor swimming pool and a paddling pool for the youngest park guests (open from May to August). The outdoor pool is fenced and has a secure closure that cannot be opened by small children.

There is a large playground at the central building, and two smaller playgrounds can be found on the campsite. The animation team provides a fun program during the holiday periods. The indoor playground offers a solution for when the weather is not so good. There is also a sports field with football goals, a volleyball net, a table tennis table and a multi-sports court at camping De Zandhegge.
